Amazing…..

Sneaky Sound System – When We Were Young (Shazam Remix)

Shazam is a young DJ/Remixer from Perth, Australia. He’s done a lot of interesting stuff that I’ve come across the last year or so. This one i hadn’t heard before but it has this wonderful 80’s feeling somehow. The bass line reminds me a bit of D-Train. In the swedish version of this blog that I wrote before I had a couple of his remixes/productions and I will probably repost them here just because they are so good. What the heck, let’s play another one right away.

MUNK – Down In L.A. (Shazam Version)

If you have a pair of Cerwin Vega speakers around I’ll suggest that you play this song LOUD and you’ll be more than happy of the result. The bass line in this song is even more D-Train like than in Sneaky Sound System’s song. What i find quite amazing is that Shazam is only 17 or 18 years old. It’s like he has sucked up all the good parts from the retro heap and reassembled them into an updated version of the 80’s.

Don’t be flash…..

Grandmaster Richie Rich – Don’t Be Flash

This is just a simple test to try out the Blog-this-feature that WordPress is supplying to my blog. If it works as intended it will be a whole lot easier to write posts in the future and I’ll probably drop Windows Live Writer which I’m using normally.

Btw, I’ve never heard this song before but it kind of represents the genre quite well. The guy who posted this song on YouTube has tons of similar songs on his channel so just make a visit and take your pick.

A classic floor filler…..

Jazzy Dee – Get On Up

Yesterday was a lost day because I had to attend to some phone related problems. The headset that I have been using to my cordless phone at home simply broke down the other night. Since the phone is 14 years old there are no such headsets available anymore. Because of my pain problems I need to use a headset when I’m talking on the phone. So yesterday was pretty much devoted to the task of finding me a new phone with an appropriate headset.

Well, now I’m a proud owner of a Siemens Gigaset S680 cordless DECT-phone. It has pretty much the same features as my old Siemens Gigaset 4000 plus a few more features like Bluetooth, customizable ring tones and programmable quick access buttons. One thing that is a bit annoying though is that even though the new phone is bigger than my old phone, it’s much lighter and kind of flimsy when you hold it. I guess I’ll get used to it eventually, but right now it’s a bit of an annoyance.

I realize that I haven’t written anything about the song in this post so far. It’s an old favorite that in my mind is a true floor filler. When I hear it I just want to get up and dance, pretty much like the title says. So for once the title corresponds well with the message the whole song sends to the listener.
